So the following is a playback of one of those “it was meant to be moments”…
On sunday I went to TkMaxx (TjMaxx in the US) to do some shopping for my house. I ended up filling a basket of things and slowly eliminating the things I had doubts about. Along the way I picked up a pair of jeans by a designer called Paige Denim. The retail price of the pair of blues was £249 and it was priced at the store for £29.99, a bargain right? I tried them on and they fit like a glove; had my name all over it, except for the fact that they were really long, and I’m not just talking “i’ll wear high heels problem solved,” I’m talking really long that I had to fold the bottom when trying them on.
I decided to hang on to them but in the end put them on some random clearance rack, payed for my other items and left. That was Sunday…since then I could not stop thinking about how stupid I was to leave the most perfect pair of jeans, especially at a store where stock is of no guarantee! Those were the only pair in the store!
Then on Tuesday night it happened…I had a dream…that I was at a TkMaxx store looking for those same jeans but unfortunately to no avail….and that was it! My sign
I decided wednesday morning that after work I would head straight to TkMaxx and look just to try my luck.
I entered the store and headed straight for where I left the pair of jeans, on the clearance rack. Now, they are always lined up according to size… Nothing! Then I thought I should go and look where I originally found the jeans, on the trousers rack. I look through every single pair of all sizes….Nothing! Of course It was slightly as expected. On a last whim I go back to check the clearance rack more thoroughly….and there they were, no size marked on the hanger so I missed it the first time and STILL rolled up from when I tried them on, on Sunday. The best part of course, was that this time they were actually on clearance and priced at £22 !!
It was blatantly meant to be!
It must be jean fate! It’s super easy to make them the right length, just cut them a bit longer than you want them to be, roll the bit of extra length under and run a sewing machine over it
